Hospitalise

Filed under: Sick — Denise @ 9:36 pm

This is my fourth time admitted to hospital. First time was back in Sep 2005 due to throat infection and fever. The second time was Mar 2007 down with stomach flu. The third one was just few months back in 7 May 2008 due to fever too. I was admitted again on 15 Sep 2008 night.

I started coughing on 12 Sep. Started fever 39.6° on Saturday. I was coughing badly with lots of phlegm. Went to GP in the night, vomited in the clinic. After the vomiting the phlegm came out but fever didn’t subside. After which my cough become hacking dry cough, persistently coughing none stop. I refused to eat and drink as the cough irritates me. No input and output too. Normally I drink lots of water and urine frequently. But I didn’t want to take anything. My diaper was dry throughout the night too.

There is no improvement on Sunday. Daddy and mummy brought me to KK hospital in the night. Doctor say no need admission. Went home with new sets of medicine. There is still no improvement on the fever. I refused to co-operate in taking medicine. Normally I won’t have any problem taking. After taking the medicine, I will throw out after cough.

Daddy and mummy brought me back to KK again hoping they will admit me. Still, they refuse. On Monday night we went to the regular GP for last opinion. GP says KK should have admit me as I’m dehydrating. My lip was tearing apart. She advised us if I still not eating and vomiting out the medication must admit me to hospital. After taking medicine at 9pm, I threw out again. Mummy decided to bring me to Mt Alvernia hospital. On the way to hospital, I threw up again in the car.

I was admitted and put on drip. Due to my cough, I was on neubraliser. PD say I have ear infection too that’s why the fever didn’t subside. Mummy stayed with me in the hospital. Fever went down quite quickly with the care by the nurses.

I was discharged on Wed morning. PD says my ear is better and no more fever. My cough is better though still got phlegm. But at least I’m coughing out from the lungs.

I am sick

Filed under: Sick — Denise @ 9:08 pm

On 6 May Tuesday morning I went to school, after measuring my temperature at 37.6°, teacher told Aunty Jo to bring me home instead. Teacher says I am having fever. I didn’t feel sick at all. After the nap in the afternoon woke up at 3pm, my temperature went up to 39°. Aunty Jo called mummy and mummy quickly rushed home.

We went Mt Alvenia A&E around 5pm. Doctor says I have a bit of redness in the throat. Told me to take the fever medicine and observe. Throughout the whole night, my fever didn’t subside. It maintained around 39°. I woke up at 6+ in the morning. Mummy decided to bring me to KK hospital instead. Doctor suspect I have HFMD. She said saw tiny spot on my palm and feet, also ulcer in my mouth. Again I was given only fever medicine and running medicine as the doctor say I will soon have running nose.

Throughout the whole day, my fever didn’t subside but keep going up till 39.7°. My whole body started to feel pain. I want to be carried all the time. I couldn’t sleep. There is nothing seems to be wrong with me except for my fever and lethargic. I became grumpy after that. I still eat and drink. At about 8pm, mummy decided to bring me back to KK hospital. Another doctor checked and say it’s not HFMD. She noticed my tonsil was enlarge. It seems like that was the cause of fever. Mummy request for me to be admitted otherwise we didn’t know how to bring the fever down. I definitely won’t be able to rest in the night.

Mummy stayed in the hospital with me. Every 4 hourly I was given paracetamol to bring the fever down and nurse comes in to take my temperature too. I was lying on a cooling padding. slowly my fever decrease throughout the night. In the morning my temperature went down to 38 degree which was a good sign.

At 8am, the doctor came to visit me. She said I can go home if I want to since my fever subside so much. But mummy don’t feel comfortable and want to observe till afternoon. My fever went down to 37.2° by 3pm. The afternoon round doctor came to see me and say I can go home. I came home after dinner at the hospital.

Horse Riding

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 2:35 pm

Found a horse riding place Gallop Stable at Pasir Ris Green through Aunty Agnes. We went to check it out on 27 April. There is pony feeding and pony ride available for kids. The pony ride cost $10 for just a round which is quite costly. Anyway, this is my first time on a pony! Surprisingly when I came down from the pony, Sandy jie jie was there too with her little brother, James and of course Aunty Agnes and Uncle Johnny were there too! What a concidence!

After Sandy pony ride, we went to feed the pony. At first I was a bit scared but with the encouragement from Sandy, I tried to feed the pony. Not that bad after all!

After pony feeding, we went over to the field and play. I brought along my golf club which was given by Clara during my birthday. We had so much fun at the field even though there is no playground. The place is really nice and weather was fantastic!

Aunty Jo, you missed the fun because you were off! Will bring you the next time ok!

Mummy’s new toy

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 1:57 pm

Mummy bought a new toy in IT Fair. It’s a small compact Canon Ixus 80 IS PINK color camera! It’s selling at $429, comes with 1×4GB, 2×2GB, 1×32MB memory chip, card reader, camera pouch and a camera bag (with tripod, cleaning kit).

canon.jpg

The old Olmypus which bought in 2003 is bulky and the battery has been giving problem. They wanted to change long ago but mummy feels that it’s a waste cos the camera quality still not as bad. It’s just that the battery couldn’t last for a day which is quite frustrating.

Bye Bye Hair

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 10:49 am

This is my before look during CNY first day.
before.jpg

Mummy saw the old pictures of mine when I was younger. Daddy and Aunty Jo also said prefer my short hair. So mummy decided to cut it short for me. I didn’t know what was happening when mummy said want to cut my hair. I thought was just the fringe only. After a while, when I saw myself in the mirror, I saw a new gal. Luckily I didn’t cry when my hair was gone. I like the new look too!

This is my new hairdo on 1 March.

What do you think? Do you also agree my new hairdo looks better? cuter and more like little gal than a mature young lady at 4 yrs old?

Eczema

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 10:00 am

I was hit by nasty scars and marks on my legs and arms since Dec. We thought was just the ordinary mosquitoes bites. It took weeks to recover and got worst with new scars. I kept scratching it till it bleeds.

We went to the doctor. GP said it’s not mosquitoes bites. It looks like some sensitive skin issue. I was referred to the National Skin Specialist on 12 Feb. By the time we went to the specialist - Senior Consultant, my scars already dried up. The doctor cannot determine what was that. Mummy showed him with the pictures she took before I went to the doctor. Specialist said it looks like atopic eczema. I had to change all my bathing wash to non-soap ones like Cetaphil or QV brand. Mainly my skin is dry and feels itchy, that’s when I started to scratch especially in the night. I had to wear gloves to prevent me from scratching. Each time I have new one, mummy and daddy gets very angry.

eczema.jpg

On 24 Feb (Sun), my left foot swollen. Mon morning it got worst. I can hardly walk at home. Mummy didn’t want me to go school, but I told her I can walk with the school shoes on. I walked very slowly. Mummy was worried and she didn’t go work. She tried calling the specialist at National Skin Centre but the doctor was not on duty on Mon. The earliest slot will be the next day morning at 11.30am. If not we can see a consultant on duty. She didn’t take the slot as she was thinking of urgency case. Was deciding if we should see the consultant instead. By the time she decided to go for the slot at 11.30am on Tue, all the appointments were full till Apr. She was so angry and upset.

After school, she picked me at school and brought me back to the GP. GP said it’s not linked to the eczema. Seems like I had infection on the foot.

dsc00666.JPG

I was given hydrocot to apply. The swell improve the next day. However, mummy still worry. She was so stressed up at work. Her friends told her to bring me to KK hospital A&E for a second opinion since I cannot see the specialist. We went and see the doctor at KK hospital. The doctor sent me for an x-ray. After the x-ray, she noticed that I have so hair line fractured near my toes. But judging that I was able to walk properly, she said should not worry too much. I was given 7 days anti-biotic for my foot infection. The medicine is the worst one I ever had! I really hate taking it! It’s so yucky!

After lunch, mummy’s doctor from her office called. Mummy was desperate to get more opinion for my skin case and she wrote the doctor an email. She called at 3pm when we were about to head home from Novena. She wanted to see my legs so we went down to see her. She recommend another bathing wash and cream for my eczema. It’s called Balneum Intensiv. It feels quite thick but we didn’t like the smell. I used it for my bath everyday and cream as and when I need it to keep my skin moisturise. Now my skin is improving though the marks are still there. Hopefully it will be gone soon.

Genting

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 5:28 pm

We had a short trip to Genting Highland on Dec 16 - 19, 2007 with Jiu Mu’s family and Yi Yi. We occupied a full bus of 26 seats and another bus of 10. The journey was so long. I could not sleep in the bus and kept disturbing mummy. Mummy took out her handphone and take pictures of me. I did all the funny actions. Only when mummy carried me on her lap than I fell asleep.

We stayed at Hotel Resort. It’s pretty new and clean! The weather was so cold. It’s 18 degree! So nice! I had to buy a hand glove for me when we went outdoor to the theme park as it was so freezing cold. Throughout the trip when someone took picture of me, I will pose and do funny faces. cheeky ya!

Happy 4th Birthday

I had my 4th Birthday party at The Grassroot’s Club Children’s Playroom in Yio Chu Kang on 18 Nov from 5pm - 8pm. Initially mummy doesn’t have intention to celebrate my birthday until we attended Joshua’s birthday party at this place in October.

I had been asking for a Barney Birthday cake ever since I attended the first birthday party at McDonald from my classmate in January. Everyday I will bug mummy for my birthday cake. Mummy will say “wait, wait, your birthday still a long way.”  Each time someone’s birthday, I will ask for my cake. Everyday I am counting down. Mummy said will celebrate my birthday in school since I’m asking for a big birthday cake.

As the time gets nearer, mummy asked the school on my birthday celebration. November is a bad time. School graduation and concert during this period. Teacher says can only celebrate my birthday on either 7 or 9 Nov that week. Mummy says it’s too early.

So mummy decided to hold my party at the Children’s Playroom. It has a BIG indoor playground. All the children see the playground will go wild! We have the whole place all by ourselves with our invited guests. We have a list of caterer from the club. We decided to choose The Naked Fish Shoppe from the club itself. It’s easier in case we need extras from them. Everyone commented the food was good! We had almost 80 guests including adults and kids!

During the process of preparation sourcing for my party stuff, mummy couldn’t find any Barney deco for my theme. Finally she asked me to change the theme. I asked for Barbie cake and mummy say NO! Barbie cake is too expensive and little. It’s not easy to cut the cake too! She brought us to Smiling Orchid to choose from the cake shop. We saw a Disney cake which is quite interesting! The 3kg cake cost us a bomb! Mummy felt so hard pain but it was worth it as the cake turned out very nice! After ordering the cake, mummy has to source for my party deco. She managed to get some deco with Disney Princess pictures. We even have a little gift return for the kids which goes with the theme! Coincidentally some of my birthday gifts are from Disney Princess! Maybe this is what a girl of my age will get.

My latest hobby

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 11:39 am

My latest hobby is to do coloring. Ever since the first time mummy let me try on the coloring art at Bishan, I love it! Every weekend when we go out, I will ask for coloring. My first one was the nicest! It’s the Little Twin Stars! Not a bad one for a first trial! The color blend so nicely. Daddy and mummy were surprised I have the patient to sit there and color for more than 30 mins! When I do coloring with daddy, mummy can go shopping!

My favourite hang out is Causeway Point shopping centre. Do you know why? Over there, I can go to the Timezone and play games. I can do coloring at 3rd level! Now my house feature wall mirror pasted all my artwork. I like to show off when someone comes to my house. The second and third one color blending was horrible. Because I love colorful, I try to use up all the colors that is available. Ended up Hello Kitty face is GREEN! hahhaa…… Mummy told me face must be WHITE or BEIGE!. Guess what, the next round I color Mickey Mouse face white! Mummy nearly fainted! From there on, she let me decide how I want to color. That’s why Donald Duck face is PINK! hahaha……

Nowadays it becomes a habit that weekend is my coloring day. If I didn’t get what I want, I will ask and ask until daddy mummy get mad.

We saw a lot of celebraties there too! got Zoe Tay, Pang Lining, Quan YiFen, Huang BiRen, Lai YiLing etc etc. I also don’t know any of them. They were sitting right in the first few rows. We bought the $48 ticket. Not that bad as we still can see quite clearly.

Daddy and Aunty Jo waiting outside for us while mummy brought me in and watch. Mummy gave me a choice to choose who to bring me in and I chose Mummy!

I like the new people in the group, Sun and Stevie! They are just as good! cool ya! hope mummy will bring me to more concert again. This was her first time in her life! We didn’t know there is a break during the show and can bring camera/video along… sua ku! Mummy took all these with her handphone camera.

Letter M

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 11:52 am

What does ”M” stands for?  I used to know letter M stands for McDonald.  Last week, my school taught us Letter “M” and “M” stands for Mummy!  We learnt a new song which goes:  “M U MM Y, M U MMY, M U MM Y, Mummy I love you!”  I came home and sing to Mummy.  She is so happy!  Mummy taught me “D A DD Y” version to be fair to daddy.  So I sing to Daddy too! When I make Mummy angry, I will sing the song but it doesn’t work… sob sob….

Yesterday I had alphabets biscuits in school.  I brought home a letter M for Mummy wrapped in a tissue.  Aunty Jo say she wants to eat it.  I told her “No” as it is meant for Mummy.  Mummy didn’t understand why would a biscuit ended with me.  So she called my teacher and asked if I did it on my own or the teacher told us to bring home for Mummy.  To her surprise, I brought home on my own.  Mummy is so touched! But of course the biscuit ended up in my stomach after showing to mummy… hehe…. it’s the thought that counts right!

All of you so clever!  Yes!  This is the first mole found on my body some months back and it is under my left sole of the foot!  When Aunty Jo found out and told mummy, we were shocked!  Especially when she told mummy what that means.  To what she knows, it means that I will be good at climbing i.e. mountain climbing.  Does that means I will be the next mount everest climber *faint!*  Aunty Jo also has one under her sole!

Daddy’s birthday

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 6:27 pm

To make up for Father’s day which mummy totally forgotten due to many happenings last few months, mummy booked a nite stay at Siloso Beach Resort on 7 July to make up for Daddy’s birthday. Aunty Jo and Yi Yi went with us. We reached Sentosa at 1.30pm but the room was not ready. So we put our bags at the resort and went for a walk.

We went for luge ride! Yi Yi dare not take, so she was the photographer. First we went up by sky ride. I was not afraid at all. Mummy got scared after a while as the ride was really far and high up. I sat with mummy on the luge ride. I had so much fun and ask mummy to be faster when she slowed down.
sentosa5.jpg

After the ride, we walked around till 3.30pm when we can check in. After check in, I change into swimsuit and ready to go for a dip!

sentosa1.jpg

We took a tram to Palawan Beach to play sand and water. After all the fun, it’s time for dinner. We want to catch the 7.40pm Songs of the Sea so we had a simple dinner at Koufu because I always take very long to eat. The food at Koufu is so yucky! After dinner, we quickly rush for the show. I didn’t know what was the show about. was waiting and waiting till the show started and I got scared by the loud announcement. The speaker is right in front of us! I had to cover my ears to watch the laser and fountain. It was amazing! We proceed back to the room after the show. It was almost 9 plus. Daddy and mummy pretend to sleep with me. After I slept, they sneaked out for their dates and aunty Jo and yi yi look after me.

They went Cafe del Mar for a drink. Inside was really cool! We went to take pictures the next morning since I can’t go in during the night. There is a jacuzzi outside the cafe. There is a pool too! cool ya! next time I grow bigger, I want to go there to see bikini babe too!

sentosa4.jpg

Next morning we woke up at 7am. Planned to have breakfast at the roof top at 8am, after that go for swim. We didn’t swim cos I was down with running nose. bad time! The air-con in the room was freezing. We felt so cold even we switched it off. Before we set up for the next itinerary, we walk around the resort and took some pictures. We will surely return again!
sentosa3.jpg
sentosa2.jpg

We went to the Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon! I told mummy I want to touch the dolphin. Mummy say next time since we were not prepared. After all the day event, we had lunch at Sakae Sushi and went home after that. All of us were so tired! Except for me! I still full of energy when we reach home!

Goodbye Ah Ma

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 2:12 pm

No more weekend visit to Ah Ma at the nursing home.  No more “Ah Ma, hor bo!”  Ah Ma (mummy’s mother) passed away peaceful on 25 May 2007 at the age of 70 yrs.  Now she is together with Ah Gong peacefully at Mandai.

Ah Ma was down with dementia (alzheimers) almost 4 years back.  She stayed in the nursing home 2 years ago as no one able to take care of her at home.  Slowly her condition deteriorate.  She was also down with Pakinson which make her unable to walk for past 6 months and lied on the bed.  She couldn’t speak and eat properly.  Each time she tried to speak, we couldn’t understand her.  It’s heartbreaking to see her suffer.  Every weekend we will make a trip down to visit her at the home.  But I always gets impatient and distracted as there was nothing for me to do there.  So mummy visits shorten.  We go there for about 2 hrs or less sometimes.  After each visit, mummy feels very sad seeing Ah Ma suffering on the bed.  She was also in and out the hospital due to high fever.  Finally she was down with pneumonia.  She dragged for 2 weeks before she was gone.

We faced 2 death within 5 months.  Mummy feels sad but has to appear strong in order to handle all these.  Mummy says there is always ups and downs in life and we must be able to handle life and death.

After East Coast, we went Killiney Coffee Shop at Raffles Place for lunch and went shopping at the newly open Central Mall near Clarke Quay. The design of the mall is very weird but they have interesting shop that we never see it outside.

start writing again…

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 4:55 pm

Life has never been the same since Happy left.  I didn’t know what’s the meaning of death is. Mummy keeps telling me Happy is dead and he is not coming back. I told her “Happy at doctor”.  She said NO!  I said “Happy cannot walk”.  She gave up explaining to me.

The house has been so quiet without him around.  No barking, no whining.  No more fighting for attention for mummy, daddy and Aunty Jo.  No one play ball with.  For the beginning for first 3 weeks was tough.  Whenever we come home, we felt the emptiness at home.  Mummy felt sad every weekend when we return as the memory is still fresh.  She has no mood to do anything.  Chinese New Year was around the corner but nothing has been done.  Luckily her friend hands down 2 Chinese costume for me.  Mummy has to hunt for my matching shoes.
cny1.jpg

We tried out the costume at home.  I didn’t like the Cheong Sum at all.  It felt itchy.  I was not happy about it.  On the first day, I didn’t want to wear it and make mummy so unhappy.  She told me if I don’t wear it, I have nothing else to wear as she didn’t buy any new clothes for me.  She promised I will only wear it on the first day and will not force me to wear it again if I don’t like it.

I like the top which I wear on second day of CNY.  We matched it with a pair of jeans.  I wore it again with a new hairstyle.  It has a totally different look!  Mummy decided to cut my hair short as I keep dropping hair.  I have lots of split ends on my hair and it keeps breaking up.  My hair seems to take ages to grow.  On the 3rd day of CNY, mummy decided to zap off my long hair with short fringe.  I have a new hairstyle and I’m loving it!  I look fresher and more like a little gal!
cny2.jpg

Just when mummy almost used to the absence of Happy, I beginning to feel sad and thinking about him.  Whenever I sees a dog or mentioned Happy’s name, I told mummy I want my Happy.  This makes mummy sad again.  She has finally brave herself not to feel upset mentioning about him.  Deep inside she still feels sad.  It takes a lot of courage for her to start writing for me again.

Special page for Happy

Filed under: Happy — Denise @ 5:22 pm

To encourage me to continue writing for Summer, toobi has created a remembrance link for Happy.  It will be a link forever.  It is a nicely done up page.  Thank you so much, toobi!

I know everyone wants to know how he passed away. Finally I managed to write out his story.  It’s kind of long.  We have put together on his link, it’s called The Passing on of Happy.

Lately Summer seems to feel sad whenever she sees his picture.  Sometimes mentioning his name or sees a dog, she will bring him up again.  She will give you the sad look and say “I want my Happy”.  I am recovering from the lost of him.   I tried not to mention about him initially but now I brave myself up to say that he is gone to the Rainbow Bridge with his doggy friends.  Hope he is happy there.

A Tribute to Happy

Filed under: Happy — Denise @ 5:36 pm

I brought you home in 6 Jun 1998 when you were 2 mths old. You were an active and happy bubbly puppy. You brought happiness, joy and laughter to my family. My sister who has fear in dog, conquered her fear. You are the first dog she ever touched. Everyone adores you.

As times goes by, you grew to be a handsome and gorgeous sturdy dog despite you do not have the full collar and long fur coat. Many fear you by the looks of your size. You never failed to be the centre of attraction when you are out. Non-dog lovers, kids and even Malays will take a look at you and comment. The kids will call you “lang gou” or “hu li gou”. Some called you Lassie. Even some dog owners thought you were a Collie!

Whenever I felt sad, you will console me. When I’m sick, you are always besides me. You slept with me on my bed. You will lick my face to wake me up over the weekends to bring you out. But you refused to wake me during the weekdays when Ah Ma tells you to. You were assigned to wake my lazy brother out from the bed as no one else can wake him up.

I never leave you at petshop even I have to go away. I will ensure someone is at home to look after you when I’m away. I always call home to check on you. I cannot enjoy my trip without thinking of you.

I brought you along to this new family when I get wedded in 2002. You took quite some time to adapt to this new environment. No more sleeping with me on my bed and going into the bedrooms. After sometime, you get used to the boundary. You understand and learn fast. Only when you are too excited, you will attempt to go into the room just to get closer to us.

We make lots of dog friends within these neighbourhood. Every night we will gather downstairs. Sometimes we have more than 20 dogs downstairs. The people around recognize you and asked why no more gathering downstairs.

Only when Summer comes along, we neglected you. However, daddy still put on an effort to walk you downstairs if weather permits. We bring you both out together to the park for walk and play sand. Summer and you are always fighting for attention. Two of you will push each other to come close us to be sayang. Summer loves playing ball with you. She has to learn throwing the ball over hand for you to fetch.

You are always strong and healthy. You are 8 years old and still behave like a puppy. I was hoping you can live to at least 10 over years. Never did I expect you leave us so soon. You will be forever in our heart. We will remember you forever. We love you so much to see you go….

Back to school

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 7:14 pm

3 January 2007 is the day when I starts my Nursery class at Evangel Kindergarten. It’s a church a few bus stops away from home. Aunty Jo will bring me to school everyday. My class will starts at 8.15am - 11.15am. For the first 3 days on 3-5 Jan, we have only 1 hr session from 9am - 10am for us to settle in class.

On the first day, mummy and Aunty Jo brought me to school. I was so excited to go school. Carrying my own school bag with water bottle inside and wear my school uniform and shoes. Off we go!
school1.jpg
We were early on the first day. We waited at the hall for all the students to arrive. At 9am, the teacher starts bringing the students to their respective class. My class is called Peace 1. When the teacher tried to bring me in, I refused. I want mummy to go into the class with me. But mummy says she cannot go in with me. The teacher pull me along with another student to the classroom and mummy quickly sneak away. They stayed outside the classroom and peeking at me. I was happily playing balloons. During snack time, I had strawberry pocky stick, chocolate cake and honey stars. Mummy saw I raised my hand for more honey stars from the teacher! She said I was so greedy!

Mummy decided to have my hair tie up everyday to school so that I will not perspire. Also to tuck in my top to look neater. From next week onwards, I will have to wake up at 7am. yawn…. zzzZZZZZ… sleeping…….

Merry Christmas

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 7:54 pm

We had Christmas gathering at our house again on 24 Dec for lunch with our neighbourhood friends. As usual, mummy is busy entertaining and preparing the food, forgotten to take photos. Aunty Jo cook bee hoon and chicken wiings for our guests. Mummy make cocktail jelly for us. We had pizza, sushi, chicken, ham, pasta and log cake for lunch! This meal lasted till the evening and had left over for the rest of the days as well. strange, wonder why so much food left? All of them must be shy and didn’t eat much.

Happy 3rd Birthday!

I am turning 3 yrs old today! We went out to Concourse to get some X’mas decor in the morning. Had prawn noodles for lunch opposite the Plaza hotel. As usual, I only had noodles and nothing else. Me and my rice and noodle only pissed daddy and mummy off! When I’m out, I always create a lot of problem during meals time. I always choose to eat rice or noodle plain only.

After the X’mas shopping at Concourse, we proceed to Vivo City. The shopping mall is terribly big and the crowd was terrible too! All these people and shops make us dizzy. It’s quite similar to the New Town Plaza we went in Hong Kong recently. But of course the Hong Kong is much bigger. Think twice as big as Vivo City! They also have playground on the roof top for the kids just like the Snoopy’s World I went. sounds copycat ya!

We met Gong Gong and Ma Ma at about 3 plus. At 5pm, we went Swensen’s early to get a good seat as it’s facing the habourfront. Daddy says wants to celebrate my birthday at Swensen’s with the ice cream cake I was eyeing. Mummy says the cake too big and expensive. We may not be able to finish so she decided to get a small one instead.

This Swensen has a total different concept with other branch. Even their menu is so different and a bit pricey. So in the end, we didn’t get the cake. I got a free slice of cake from them as Ma Ma mentioned it’s my birthday! I have my own cake and the adults has the ice cream chocolate fondue.

After dinner, we walked around the habourfront and took so pictures. Went home about 8 plus. hehe…. never hear me mentioning my present right? mummy says the Disneyland trip was my BIG present!

My Journey

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 9:28 pm

Mummy decided to spend some time to do up a journal for me since I was born. Tomorrow I will be 3 years old. These are the pictures taken since the day I was born and most of the first memories. Seeing the changes in me brings back memories to my dear daddy and mummy. When mummy was doing up these pictures, I didn’t even know it’s me! There are really lots of changes within these 3 years. Journey has been tough but they manage to struggle through, of course with the help of Aunty Jo! Without her, think mummy won’t be able to survive till now. She has been a lot of help to our family. Well, Daddy and Mummy, 18 more years to go before I get my freedom! Take care!

Happy 3rd Birthday to me! Will update my birthday celebration after tomorrow. hmmm…. not sure what’s the plan for tomorrow.

Hong Kong Trip

Filed under: Trips — Denise @ 9:03 pm

We went Hong Kong on 8 Nov to 11 Nov for 4 days. We stayed one night at Disneyland Hollywood Hotel and 2 nights at Majestic Hotel in Kowloon. We had so much fun!

The weather was pretty hot. We brought mostly long sleeves shirts, thinking that it will be cold. We didn’t buy things as our luggage was really full. We only brought one with all 3 persons clothing in it. No room for extras. Anyway, we didn’t have time to shop too. We were so tired after the trip to Disneyland and Ocean Park. Reached hotel about 9pm and prepare to rest. I knocked out by 10pm easily.

Mummy’s New Toy

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 1:18 pm

Mummy has a new toy! It’s the iPod nano!

She bought it a the new refurbished price at $158 with 2GB. Its a pity it only comes in white otherwise she will get the bright pink!

Looks cool ya! Can download my photo too!

She decided to buy as the price is reasonable and she is not satisfied with the mp3 she had which is only 256MB. She is so sick of the repeated songs. Moreover we have upgraded to iMac in February after having lots of problem with the old pc. With the advise and demo from Uncle Toobi, she decided to try on Apple computer. It looks too cool to resist. With new iMac, she can do lots of things. The pictures in my blog was done by Comic Life from iMac. Isn’t it so cool! And I can always view my photos on the screen.

See, my picture is always on the screen as wallpaper and screensaver.

Playgroup

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 10:46 am

Aunty Shelley suggested to mummy if we can arrange a playgroup session for Estelle and me for 2 hr in the morning. One week their house and one week ours from 9am-11am (Wed). We started off last week at Estelle house. We had so much fun with guidance from Aunty Shelley. We paint and color. Aunty Jo brought me over to their house. But when it’s time to go home, I refused. When mummy return home, I have so much to tell what I did today! Mummy told Aunty Shelley to arrange more often whenever they are free since I’m always at home with Aunty Jo.

Today, Estelle is coming over my house! I waited at my play table before 9am. Whenever the lift comes up, I expected thta is Estelle and Aunty Erma. But no. Estelle arrive at 9.15am. Mummy happen to be at home cos she is not feeling well. She manage to capture our play session.

We started off with playing puzzles. I have lots of puzzles at home to keep us busy. But it didn’t last. After which, we switch to my favourite - cooking! It’s masak time!

See, we had so much fun! We shall do this more regularly ok!

New Bed

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 7:14 pm

People has been complaining my blog “chao sng” (mouldy). Basically there is nothing to update. Everyday is the same. Weekend has become so boring. Nothing interesting happening except some of my mischief  All my friends are busy over the weekend and have their own plans.

Mummy is busy at work. After work, rush home to spend time with the little monster. She hardly has the chance to switch on the computer. Whenever she switches on the Mac, the little monster will wants to see her photos. Hmmm….. wonder who is that little monster???? We have TWO at home! She is also trying to make some time for herself to go exercise as she has been complaining she is FAT!

Mummy and Daddy are trying very hard to source for a bed for me. They wanted to get a bed with barrier for me. It seems so hard to find one! We can only find those double decks. The top portion is exactly what we want! They check around to customise one and were quoted $600 over! Gosh!

Finally we spotted one exactly what we wanted at IKEA! They confirmed so many times just to make sure it can be dismantled to one single instead of double decks. After all the consideration on the price, they decided to buy it as it fits our requirement. Usually mummy will not consider furniture from IKEA as it is not lasting due to the cheap and affordable quality. Hopefully this can last at least a year.

It’s actually a bunk bed where we split into 2 single beds. The top portion is for me and the other for Aunty Jo. It was delivered yesterday. We realised one small problem after they installed. We had to do some tricks in order to fix the barrier…. Secret.

This is the original look. Model GUTVIK

This is how I used to sleep with all the protection around me. My mattress is placed on the floor besides their bed. Each time Aunty Jo sweep and mop, she has to bring up everything. It’s quite troublesome!

This is me on my new bed! Aunty Jo need not bring up anything now! She can just simply sweep and mop easily!

Day out with Daddy

Filed under: Trips — Denise @ 6:53 pm

8 July was Daddy’s Birthday! Mummy’s office had teambuilding at Changi Beach and a night stay at Sentosa Beaufort hotel. In the morning at 9am, mummy set off to Changi Beach for her day activities.

Daddy and me set off to check in the hotel after lunch. We reach around 1pm. After we got the key, we went straight to the hotel room and start snapping pictures! We are going to show mummy our room. We went out for a walk and take more pictures outside. After that, we return to the room and change into our swim wear and went for a dip at the pool. This is the first time I spent some time with Daddy alone. Mummy worried Daddy cannot handle me. Maybe I was in a good mood so didn’t give much trouble. ;) These are all the pictures Daddy took for me. I was a model and he is a photographer for once!

Mummy came to the hotel to look for us after her activities. She had a shower and we went to meet her colleagues for dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant at East Coast Park. After dinner, we all had dessert at Haagen Daz’s ice cream at Siglap. This is the first time I met mummy’s boss and colleagues. I was not shy after a while warm up and started playing with her boss! Daring right!

Anyway, we went back to the hotel very late. By then, I was very tired and I went straight to bed as we need to wake up earlier the next day to attend my speech & drama lessons at Lorna Whiston! Mummy didn’t get to enjoy the hotel except for the bed. Daddy went out to the lounge to watch World Cup while we both zzzZZZZZZZ…..

The next morning we had a quick breakfast at the hotel and rush for lesson.

Outing

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 10:28 am

Daddy and Mummy decided to take leave on 6 Jun to bring me for the Barney show at IMM. On the same day, there is a free photo taking session at Causeway Point with Pooh and the gang. We went Causeway Point for breakfast at MacDonald before the photo session at 11am. Daphne met us there too!

I was so afraid of the BIG GIANT characters and I got freak out when we went up the stage for picture. Look! The picture didn’t turn out nice.

Look at Daphne and family. Theirs were well taken by daddy.

After the photo session, we rushed down to IMM for the Barney show at 1pm. We had lunch first before the show. I enjoyed the Barney show so much! I was dancing and singing along with Daphne.

Both of us had so much fun! We run around the shopping mall, had a ride on the kiddy ride and take pictures.

Actually Mummy took 2 days leave and she supposed to bring me out alone on 7 Jun but she was not feeling well. The next 2 days she was on medical leave on 8 - 9 Jun. :( so sad. weekend were burnt.

Visit to dentist

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 10:13 am

My first visit to the dentist! You must be wondering how did it go. Just like mummy and daddy got very worried before the trip too. In the morning, we went swimming at the Legend Fort Canning with my friends, Le Han and Raynon. We had so much fun! I can swim with the arm float now!

After lunch, we had to rush for the dental appointment at 1pm. We were late but mummy call and inform them that we will be 15 mins late. When we were there, we waited at the front desk. A lady in white came out with a little friend on her finger. She said that is her friend, monkey! She asked if I want to see more of monkey friends inside the room. We followed her and saw so many friends there. There was mama cow and baby cow sitting on the chair. I excuse the cows and sit on the chair playing with them.

Dentist talked to me and ask what did I have for lunch. Slowly she asked me to open my mouth and show her. As I opened my mouth, she put a metal thing inside my mouth and scrapped out the noodle which I had for lunch. After all that, I rinse my mouth at the basin. see, I keep pressing the button to fill the cup. interesting…

She explained to me that I have to brush my teeth twice a day. Here is how she taught me to brush teeth. After I brushed, must asks mummy to check if it’s clean. I told her OK! of course it’s not true! Mummy still have problem brushing my teeth every time. It’s like a war time in the night!

Local Tour

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 4:56 pm

We went for a local tour in Singapore with MaMa’s company. We met at 9.00am at Jurong East Popular Bookstore there. Our first stop is at Herbal Tea factory somewhere the East. My first experience sitting in a bus for so long journey. It was quite alright. I sat on mummy’s lap. After that we proceed to Soon Kuay factory and Lee Wee Brothers Otah factory at Hougang. Over there, mummy know I’m a bit bored. She saw those ti-kum machine and gave me $1 to play with it. I played once and cannot resist exploring further until it’s time to go.

The next stop is the Animal Resort at Seletar Farmway. Over there we can feed the animals. There are goats, pony, goose, crown crane, dogs, rabbits etc. I feed the fishes. I dare not feed the goats and Pony. Aunty Jo and Mummy feed them with their hands. Mummy says they won’t bite, just nibble on your hands.

The lunch stop was at Sunshine Place foodcourt in Choa Chu Kang, near the next destination. We brought our lunch there as mummy know that I will not eat properly outside. Moreover we might be rushing for the next destination at a short time. Aunty Jo woke up to fried bee hoon to bring along. Well, I didn’t eat much as well. I drank a packet of milk.

After lunch, we went to the organic vegetable and aloe vera farm. The final destination is the Farmart. There is nothing much at Farmart any more. Most of the shops closed down. There were 2-3 pet shops there, now left only one. After Farmart, we head back to Jurong East Station.

Daddy parked his car at IMM, so we took the feeder bus to IMM. Mummy promise to let me play at the playground. When I reached there, I misbehave and we have to go home. Throughout the whole journey till we reach home, I didn’t want to talk and look at mummy. See how naughty I am nowadays. When I get angry, I ignored everyone. I will walk to one corner and pout. I will sit on the floor despite where I am. I even sat on the floor at IMM. Daddy and Mummy shake their heads. Is this what they call Terrible Twos, mummy ask.

Hay Dairies Visit

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 1:57 pm

Friday 12 May was a Public Holiday. Aunty Josephine organise a goat farm visit for us with her friends. Daphne and her sister was there and some other friends. We reached there at 9.30am and waited for the rest. waited for so long till 10.15am, finally all arrived. When we first reach, we can see the goat milking. Behind me are the female goat milking time. They go by batches. We bought a bottle of the chocolate goat milk and try. I love it! Mummy dare not drink cos of it’s smell. Daddy, Aunty Jo and me enjoying it.

We went into the farm and feed the goats. There are big and small. See how we feed the goats. They are all vegetarian goats feeding on wheat grass. We bought a packet cost $2 to feed them. I was a bit scared to feed them. seeing Daphne so brave, I also try. Not that bad after all except I dare not step on the floor, aunty Jo was carrying me feeding the goats…. hehehe…. as usual.

After we finished the goat farm, we head to Bollywood Vege Farm. Wanted to have lunch there but was crowded. Think there is a function going on so all the table were reserved. Mummy decided to leave the group and proceed for lunch as it was lunch time. Knowing me will be cranky due to hunger and weather was so hot. We went Jurong Point for lunch while the others went to the vege farm.

During the journey to Jurong Point, I fell asleep in the car. Upon reaching, I was still sleeping. We went Crystal Jade La Mian for lunch. Only after the food arrive on the table, I decided to wake up and create trouble…. hiak hiak hiak. Mummy thinking I was sleeping, so ordered fried rice for herself. Easier for her to eat while carrying me with one hand. Who knows I woke up and ask for noodles. No choice they have to order another bowl of noodles for me. As usual, I will create a huge mess during meals. This is the time mummy fear most when we go out. I always eat half way and play with my food. demanding this and that. later get scolding…. sigh……

After lunch, we went to get a new pair of shoes for me again. I have outgrown my old pair of shoes. I refused to walk and ask to be carried all the time. So it means time to change shoes! After we manage to get the shoes, walk for a while, we went home. We didn’t want to tired ourselves as we have another big outing to go tomorrow. Keep in view!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 8th Birthday to Happy!

Today is Happy’s birthday. Yesterday mummy bought a durian cake from 727 Cakerie at Suntec. Happy’s favourite! yum yum! It’s a small one, looks very cute! She brought home in the MRT and bus. The moment she sense that the smell coming out, she quickly tighten the plastic bag, fearing that people will complain and chased her out of the train and bus.

When she reached home, I was so happy that we can sing Birthday song for Happy. Been practising the whole day. But Daddy was not home yet. Mummy said have to wait for Daddy to come home than sing and cut cake together. Daddy reached home at 8.15pm, I started screaming “cut cake, cut cake”. Mummy say wait again. :( cos Daddy have not had his dinner.

A while later, mummy brought out the cake. I screamed and screamed. I started to sing the Birthday song. We put the cake on my play table as mummy wanted to take picture for Happy and me. But Happy cannot stay still. In the end, I was the one standing, waiting anxiously to blow the candle for Happy. Wonder who’s birthday is that? Daddy has to come in and put us together. I blowed the candle on behalf of Happy. See how happy I am!

Mummy gave Happy a slice of the cake. We placed it on my table and he cannot reached it. So we put the plate on the floor for him. He licked and licked, the plate move further and further. I helped him to hold the plate. After he finished, daddy and me were sharing ours, the greedy boy drool in front of us. He is waiting to grab a bite any time. Mummy say cannot give him too much. The rest will keep for tomorrow. “oh no…. the fridge going to stink!” Mummy said. hahaha…. Mummy hates DURIAN!!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 5:20 pm

Gong Xi Gong Xi! It’s Chinese New Year! This is my 3rd Chinese New Year and my first chinese costume bought from Toa Payoh. Nice?

This is my bag to keep the oranges.

Let me tell you how I spent my Chinese New Year with Daddy, Mummy and Auntie Jo! We had reunion dinner at great-grandma house on 28 Jan.

This year being the year of the dog, mummy bought a scarf for Happy kor kor. Before we set off for our visiting, we wanted to take a picture with him but it’s so hard to capture one together. Despite mummy’s attempt shooting about 5 shots, this is the best shot but still a bit blur.

On the 1st day, we dropped Yi Yi house to see Wai Po. Mandy and Sheena Jie Jie were there too. See, do I look like Mandy Jie Jie? wait till mummy go and dig out her baby photo. we look quite the same when we were young.

At noon time, we went over to Ma Ma and Gong Gong house for lunch. After lunch we proceed to great-grandma house. When we reached, the house filled with over 20 people in a small 3-room flat. wow! so many Uncles and Aunties. I don’t know how to address them, just call them Uncle, Auntie, Kor Kor, Jie Jie. I wished them Gong Xi Gong Xi and I get Ang Pow.

On the 2nd day, we went to Auntie Suzette house. She has two little gals. Nicole, who is older than me by 4 mths and Natasha who is 15 mths old. They came back for holiday from UK.

This is what I wear during the 2nd day of CNY. Mummy say I look so mature with this dress. Sorry, hair a bit messy as I just finished my bath.

After that we went over to Ma Ma house and meet to go another relative house. Again, I wish them Gong Xi Gong Xi and I get Ang Pows! hmmm… quite effective ha!

On the 3rd day which was still a Public Holiday, daddy and mummy have not gone back to work yet. We had an early lunch and went Istana. Daddy and Mummy said they have not been to Istana before. How can we a Singaporean not been to Istana? Well, finally their wishes came true! We reached there about 1pm. It was still quite crowded at that time.

This is the entrance to the Istana. We were queuing to go in. Entrance is free for local except foreigner has to pay $1 and it will donate to charity. So Auntie Jo has to pay in order to get to enter.

Actually it’s no big deal. It’s just like Botanic Garden with big green green patch of field. I enjoyed walking and running everywhere. See! I had so much fun!

And the next moment….. I got a souvenir back from there.

I fell on the road and scratched on my both knees. I didn’t cry and it didn’t bother me at all.

I still can run towards the playground and have fun. Look! I can slide and swing.

Ok, time to go. Enough of playing.

This was taken in front of the guard room. see the mini cannon.

Until 2 hrs later when the wound became dry. I kept touching it as it was quite painful. Mummy taught me to blow and ease the pain.
After Istana, we went shopping at Orchard Road. It was a fruitful trip for Mummy because I fell alseep in the pram. So they can enjoy shopping without having to chase after me. She bought lots of things for daddy and herself but nothing for me. We had dinner at Orchard Point food court. After that we went home. We reached home at 9.30pm. Everyone was so tired. Mummy has to work the next day while Daddy still on leave.

Rain, Rain…

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 4:16 pm

These few days has been raining almost the whole day. Windows open and close until mummy got so fed up, don’t want to open the windows at all. Since New Year’s Eve started to rain till today. Spoilt all my outdoor activites and no parks and downstairs for Happy. Luckily on New Year’s Eve we grabbed the chance to go swimming at Jurong East Swimming Complex while the weather was perfect. After that had been raining since….. zzzZZZZ …. so boring. The adults went to work on weekdays while I stayed at home playing with my toys.

Have not been meeting my ex-childcare mates. Wanted to arrange outing again but they are always not free or weather not good. On 7 Jan (Sat), mummy invite them over to our house. We have a strong feeling that we couldn’t go out so we didn’t plan outing. They came to our house at 10.45am.

hmmm… you two wearing the same. wait… let me go and change to the same one.

that’s more like it.

We had lunch together and play. True enough, it started to rain in the afternoon. The rain goes on and off again.

We had our nap together at about 4pm. Woke up at 6.30pm still raining.

Having papaya after dinner.

No choice we watch “Wheels on the bus”. At about 8pm they went home. I nearly cried when they go off cos I wanted to go with them. But mummy said they going home. sad sad… no one play with me any more.

Neighbours gathering

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 3:49 pm

We had a gathering among the neighbours from the forum. We had long Hi-Tea from 12pm - 5pm at Cafe Vic - Carlton Hotel on 11 Dec. So far this is the only place we found which holds long Hi-tea over the weekend. And the price is quite reasonable. It costs $22+++ for adult. Children below 5 yrs old is free. It’s an international spread and with finger food for kids too. There is a balloonist lady who makes balloon for us too! It’s quite child friendly cafe. We have been there twice! It’s a great place for gathering.

These are all my neighbourhood friends.

We have Clara here. She is oldest among us. she is 3 yrs old. She has a little sister name Cheyenne.

This is Cheyenne. She is 1 yr and 4 mths to date. She was playing with the croissant and mummy zoom from the table taking her pictures. Isn’t she cute?

This is Aunty Shelley’s daugther - Estelle. She is so shy. The moment mummy took out the camera, she pretend to do something and look away. So hard to capture her properly.

Nigel the only boy who is 9 mths old.

Celeste is also 9 mths.

Estelle, Nigel and Celeste are neighbours staying same block same floor.

This is Ning. She is new addition to our group. She is 10 mths old.

This is me enjoying my papaya.

Look! I got a piglet make by the ballonist.

Finally… see our group photo. These are all the lovely neighbours we have. Want to know who are they? I can only reveal their nickname anyway so no point… kekekek…

My Birthday

I am 2 yrs old on 18 Nov 2005. People say the “Terrible Two’s”… hmmm…. wonder what that means… hahaha… You wanna know, ask my mummy! She is tearing herself apart!

This was the invitation sent out to my friends. Mummy found this interesting e-card from Hi-5 website. Lately I’m obsessed with Hi-5 show at 5pm every weekday. So mummy “trying” to create a theme for my birthday with a little help from Aunty Shelley. She also helped us to print out the stickers for the flappers.

From this

transform into this with help from Aunty Shelley. Isn’t it interesting?

I had a little celebration at Downtown East Chalet again this year on 13 Nov. Mummy say can invite some of my close friends to celebrate together. My invited guests list are Crystal, Le Han, Raynon, Terence, Daphne, Shawn and Sandy. Total there are 8 kids including me. Sandy is the oldest among all. She is 4 yrs old. Her birthday is one day earlier than me on 17 Nov. She celebrated hers on 5 Nov because of me. Mummy say we won’t be able to attend if she celebrate on 12 Nov as we are checking into the chalet. So Aunty Agnes moved it earlier. That’s very sweet of them isn’t it! So her birthday present has to be a big big one!

We checked into the chalet on 12 Nov. We reached there before 2pm. The room was not ready so we have to hang around the resort. The moment I saw Barney poster everywhere, I was so excited and start screaming “Barney!”! Mummy thought I’m not interested in Barney any more. Surprisingly I still remember them. Here are the pictures with Barney and friends! Barney and friends will be performing at Downtown East this year. So there are poster everywhere. They have this kiddy ride too! But daddy and mummy dare not let me take a ride fearing that I might not sit still or cry as no adults will be allowed.

Kiddy ride at $3

Daddy and me in front of the kiddy ride

Me with Barney and BJ

Me with Baby Bop

Me with Barney and Friends! Happy Family!

Since we are unable to check in yet, we had drinks and french fries at MacDonald’s. See I’m eating fries dip in curry sauce.

yum yum…

you want some?

After we checked into the chalet, it was over 3pm. I didn’t want to sleep so we had some bubbles time at the corridor before proceeding to Escape Theme Park.

About 4 plus we went to the theme park. It was hot! There isn’t much things for me to do except these 3 rides which is suitable for a kid like me but with an adult.

This is the Choo Choo Train. Mummy didn’t expect everything to be so small. She can hardly stretch her legs.

see how small the train is?

This is their so-called Ferris Wheel. It’s really a miniature. Only 1 adult can sit. Daddy sat with me. Mummy and Aunty Jo each sit on their own. Kind of disappointed.

This is the aeroplane ride which goes up and down, round and round. It also so small. Mummy can hardly put her legs in so I sat alone in front while mummy holds me from behind. Actually I’m not scared and can sit on my own without her holding me as there is a seat belt which buckle me up.

up and high!

Think the theme park is really not suitable for little kids like me. The adults will love those thrilling rides but not for my daddy and mummy. They have weak heart… hahaha…

My birthday celebration was on 13 Nov (Sun). Morning I went for swim with daddy at the pool. The water was freezing. The pool was not that crowded at 9am.

Daddy trying to teach me how to swim but I was not really interested…

instead… I like to splash splash splash… hahaha…

Raynon and Le Han came early at about noon. We went for lunch together and sleep in the chalet after lunch. About 5pm, we woke up. They went for swim at the pool with Crystal and Daphne. I didn’t swim as mummy will be busy running around. Daddy went to fetch Aunty Jo and the food from home.

This is my birthday cake. It was a big disappointment the moment mummy picked up the cake. She nearly cried because this is not what she expected.

It looks alright in the picture but actually it looks terrible when you see the actual one. The Hi-5 sign and Jup Jup was being enlarge from the one mummy sent below. We expected some fruits to go along but nothing!!! Mummy called to complain the next day. Apparently she was told that the chef was a new staff and didn’t know what to do with the design mummy gave.

Goodies bag for my friends

This is one of the item in the goodie bag. A flapper with printed logo of Hi-5 and Jup Jup, One picture on each side. Jup Jup is my favourite character in the Hi-5 show. Thank you Aunty Shelley for printing this for me!

Outside the chalet. Decoration done up by Aunty Peggy, Aunty Wee Ling and Uncle Chia Wei while we were sleeping inside the chalet. Mummy has to collect satay and cake.

These are the food Aunty Jo prepared all by herself. Of course not the satay.

One group here - Daphne and Sandy

another group there - Le Han, Raynon, Terence and Crystal

oh…. Shawn was sick so he didn’t come.

Group photo with my former classmates. Terence, Le Han, Raynon, Me and Crystal

After dinner, it’s play time! It’s bubbles time again!

Ok, time for Birthday song for me.

Sentosa Trip

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 2:58 pm

3 Nov (Thu) was a Public Holiday. We had an outing to the beach at Sentosa with my regular friends (Crystal, Le Han, Terence) oh not all…. someone is missing….. guess who??

Uncle Choon Beng : “Hi Summer, long time no see! We are building sand castle, you wanna join?”

Sure! looks like fun to play on the sand.

Mummy trying to get me down to the sea.

not that bad after all… it’s fun!

Look! I’m enjoying it!

wow! here comes the wave….

oh no! my shorts is wet!

hmm… enjoying my milk from Aunty Wee Ling

oops! forgot to ask mummy.. get scolding liao.

Mummy is trying to discipline me to ask her if I can take anything given by someone. Partially for safety reason especially if I don’t know them and not to be bribe easily. Also in case I’m allergy to certain food which no one knows. So I have to learn to ask mummy for permission if someone offer me anything. Well.. there are some rules mummy set which I have to follow. Even daddy and Aunty Jo has to obey. Mummy know best!

The four musketeers.

Le Han wearing my hat. Pretty? er… think my hat a bit too small for her.

After the beach, we went Underwater World to see fishes since there is no where else to go.

“Mummy…” oops! wrong person.

look at the fishes! so bright and nice!

Terence and Le Han dancing at the travelator

trying to balance together

The fishes are so huge

We had lots and lots of fun. The next outing we looking forward will be my birthday celebration on 13 Nov. See you all!

Zoo

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 10:49 am

photos photos photos… are you tired of seeing my photos and reading my write up?? I don’t think so right otherwise you won’t be here. I’m sure you love reading it! It’s all mummy’s hardwork to keep up with this latest technology thingy “blog”.

We went to the zoo on 23 Oct (Sun) with Le Han & Family. Yes, it’s Le Han again! Crystal & family supposed to join us but she had fever so didn’t turn up. The weather was good after a light shower in the morning. We met at 9am at the entrance. Le Han was thrilled to see me and we wanted to hug each other.

wait a minute… my hairclip dropped….

Ok! I’m ready. Let’s go!

The moment we walked in, there was a guy holding a snake standing in front of us. Mummy got freak out and dare not move a step further and was mumbling to daddy saying “Please ask that guy not to come near me. Please ask him to stay away from me.” hahah… think that guy heard or knew by the reaction of mummy, he walked away. Daddy brought me to see the snake while mummy was like 50m away from us.

Look, we were so close the snake. Le Han even touched the snake. Daddy asked me to touch but I was too afraid. btw, all these photos were taken by Aunty Wee Ling cos Mummy ran far away….

Actually, I did touch this BIGGER snake (see pix) but was too fast and no one managed to capture it. And guess what…. our camera died on us again… grrrrrrrrr… mummy was so mad! (battery flat!) too bad! can’t expect me to touch the snake to prove to you right!

We took a slow walk to see the animals before proceeding for the show at ‘Wonders of the Wild’ at the Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre at 10.30am. I make funny action which was caught in action again. haha…. guess what was I “actioning” after seeing the snake?

While the adults stopped to get a drink, someone came and wanted to have a share on Le Han’s bread. It was so closed. After a while, it divert it’s attention towards me since it can’t get a bite from Le Han. Mummy scare it away.

For everyone’s info, Giraffe is back in the zoo! But these Giraffe are very young, they look pretty small.

We had so much fun! We see fishes.

Two little gals act like a rabbit.

We went to the Children’s World Animal Land. Le Han touched the rabbit.

Played on the slide and swing at the playground.

Le Han, we shall go again ok! Aunty Wee Ling, thanks for all these wonderful photos. Without you, Mummy won’t be able to capture all these wonderful moments.

I’m back!

Filed under: Sick — Denise @ 11:18 am

Hi Hi,

This is Summer! I’m up and running! Thank you everyone for your concern. I am fully recovered. The rashes were all gone last Thu (8 Sep). I started to eat and drinking well until we ran out of diapers again (hehehe…. mummy gave me the dateline by end Aug to be toilet trained but I didn’t succeed in my urine yet).

I’m back to my normal self. Mummy says the naughty gal is back! I’m up to my mischief again but she is happy to see the real me! She said better than the grumpy old woman. Old Woman! I’m not even 2 yrs old and she call me Old Woman! I will prove her wrong. I will become a pretty, cute, smiley, cheery and cheeky gal that everyone loves!

This is how I looked like when I was sick. I just want to lie down. This is the only time mummy allowed me to bring my bol-ter (bolster) and hand-chief (handkerchief) out from my bedroom.

Mummy will never let me lie down to watch TV. This was exceptional and no more next time.

Me with the stone and tired look watching TV

This was how the rashes look like. Picture a bit blur. Not that bad. It’s not itchy or bother me at all. Luckily I wasn’t scratching.

Everyone is overly concern and keep asking mummy about me. She is tired and sad to repeat the story over and over again. Besides she just wants everything to be in the past.

Mummy said we had a very bad year this year. I have been falling sick so often until she is so immune. She was hospitalised for stomach flu during the month of June, which postponed our holiday. Daddy had slip disc. This makes him unable to do any form of exercise and carry heavy things. He is not even supposed to carry me, which makes me so sad.

I hope everything will be fine. Mummy has to make a huge decision to withdraw me from childcare for the sick of my health. Hope she is making the right decision to leave me with Auntie Jo. Hearing about maid murdering employer and now maid killing each other does freak them out. Trust me, this is not their choice unless mummy quits her job. Since the day I joined infant care at 10 mths old, I had been constantly falling ill. From one month once to 3 wks down to 2 wks and every weekly. Recovering time from 3 days drag on to 1-2 wks. Luckily mummy has an understanding boss otherwise she could have lost her job long ago and all medical expenses are covered by her company. So the more mummy cannot afford to lose her job.

Another part of the reason is due to the distance. Daddy may require working late at times. Because of me, he cannot work OT and his boss is very unhappy about it. If he doesn’t pick me, mummy has to pick me take bus and MRT home. We stayed at Woodlands and my school is at Bukit Batok.

Yes, everyone says sooner or later we kids will fall sick when we start to go school. But if we are older, we can handle better as we are able to express our discomfort. Falling ill at such a young age and so frequent is not a good sign. Moreover we have a family history of asthmatic.

In the meantime, we try out this way to see if Auntie Jo can cope with me. Seems like everyone is happy with this arrangement. Mummy and Daddy doesn’t have to wake up at 6am. We used to leave our house at 6.45am and they are still late for work. After work both of them have to rush off to pick me up before 7pm. Mummy has to travel from City Hall to Jurong East to meet daddy. Now both can wake up later and still reach office on time.

After work, they can reach home by 6.30pm and finish dinner by 7.15pm. Unlike previously we only reach home around 7.15pm and by the time we finished dinner is almost 8pm. At 8.30pm, it will be my bedtime. I only can spend half an hour with them.

Auntie Jo also says she is happier, not so boring alone at home. She used to do all the housework and cooking since she joined us in January. She is capable to have additional task. She even picked up the book to learn how to care and groom for Happy. Now I will keep her more busy. Her priority is to take care of me and cook for us. The rest will comes later when daddy and mummy is back. And of course Happy is even more happy! He has me to bully him…. hehehehe… or rather play with him lah!

We will take one step at a time and move on.

Mummy is writing….

Filed under: Sick — Denise @ 2:19 pm

Summer is no longer the active, cheery, smiley and sweet little girl since last Thu (1 Sep). She has become an unreasonable, demanding, grumpy, grouchy, inactive girl. Summer was sick. She was very very sick.

I received a call from her childcare on Thu after lunch. Her teacher told me she is having fever (38.8°). I was panicked and shocked! She was well last 2 weeks and has no symptoms of falling ill at all. I rushed down by cab to her childcare. She was sleeping. She felt very feverish. I didn’t bring her home immediately as I do not want to disturb her sleep. I loiter around her school compound and wait for the teacher to call me once she wake up. I didn’t bring her to the doctor as the paediatrician is closed. We monitor her till the next day.

Her fever didn’t come down on Fri. The night before her fever went up to 40°. After work, we brought her to pd. pd didn’t say anything except to observe if the fever goes off after 3rd day. usually will goes up and down during these 3 days. but apparently it didn’t and had been persistently at least 39.2° even in the day. Usually even she is sick, she is up and active. But this time really hit her badly. She was very down. She can’t eat and drink. She doesn’t have any output. No urine, never pass motion. I even offer her favourite yoghurt and milk, she rejects. The moment she puts inside her mouth, she say NO. We didn’t know what causes it. Her fever became worst during the night. We had to stay awake and sponge her. Surprisingly she let me sponge her for the first time. Think she was too tired to fight back. The next day Justin and I knocked out. Maid took over on Sat while we sleep.

On Sat, Justin and I went to grab DVD player at Causeway Point during her nap time. She has not been watching her favourite shows for more than 2 mths as our dvd player went dead. When we return, my maid said her fever went up to 41°. We decided to bring her to Mt Alvernia A&E after dinner. The doctor said she has ulcer in her throat, quite a few in fact which causes her to lose her appetite. Doctor worried she might have dengue fever as she has fever for 3 days. Firstly gave her suppository to bring down the fever. Then she had her finger prick for blood test. She cried so badly when the guy pricks her finger. After that, paste the plaster on her but the blood didn’t stop bleeding and was dripping. We had to get the nurse to replace another one. After a while, she insisted me to take out her plaster. Half an hour later, she is up and running. We thought wow the bullet so effective! We went home with antibiotics and fever medicine. Doctor said to give her soft food and not too hot. Unfortunately the fever came back during the night. This time she refused to let me sponge her.

On Sun, my maid was off. We took care of her in the day. She still refused to eat and drink, not even her milk. The whole day she just want to sleep. We have to force her to take something in order to give her medicine. We even put the suppository for her. Quite effective but can only last for 6 hrs and she start having fever again. We cooked mee sua for her for dinner. She refuse to take anything and just want to sleep. We afraid that it will get worst in the night again and she might be dehydrated so we went back to the hospital and request to see the same doctor. The doctor said the antibiotics doesn’t seems to work for her and she has phlegm in her lungs. He gave us 2 options. Either he adds on another antibiotics for her or admit her due to the fact she is not taking anything and may have to go on drip. We choose to admit her as we worried might have to come back.

Summer cried and wanted to go home when we went up to the ward. We worried that she might need to go on drip. Luckily the pd came and say not at the moment. She has to stay for observation to see if she can take something. She was given medicine for her throat and every 6 hourly has to use nebuliser. Throughout the night, we have to wake up for medication and to take temperature. Every time the nurse comes in to take her temperature, she will wake up and cry. She refuse to even let me take for her.

On Mon, her fever subsides but she has outbreak rashes, which described by the doctor as false measles. He wants her to stay for another night to make sure no more fever. Her intake was not improving. We had to use syringe to pump water into her mouth since she refused to drink on her own. Her lips was so dry and tearing apart. Slowly her appetite improves a bit. She start to drink her milk, not much though but a relieve to see some improvement. She has not pass motion for 2 days. She told me she wants to poo poo but when we went to the toilet bowl, she say no more. Think she was not comfortable of me having to hold her on the toilet seat. We had to bring her potty seat to the hospital and forced her to pee and poo. On Tue morning, during breakfast, she said she want to poo poo. And she managed to pass motion on her own toilet seat. She was discharged on Tue morning. She was so happy to be home.

After she returned home, she still sleep most of the time. Her rashes spread to her hands and legs. She is not scratching but we had to keep her cool all the time. This whole week I’m keeping her away from school and let my maid take care of her. She is improving at home. She drinks a lot of water again at home. And slowly her appetite improves. She is eating more.

Anyway, after this incident, we decided to withdraw her from school. We will let maid take care of her at home till she recuperate and decide what to do next. Whether to stay at home or send her to half day playgroup. All these will consider later as days goes by. I’m sure she will miss all her friends and teachers in school. And her friends and teachers will definitely miss her smile. Well, we can still remain in touch and arrange more outing.

Shoes

Filed under: Shoes — Denise @ 4:37 pm

Shoes… when come to my shoes, mummy always complain. I got plenty of shoes. Some passed on by mummy’s friend. Some bought by mummy. I got very slim feet, very hard to buy shoes. Most of the shoes are meant for chunky feet. Mine is slim and long. Mummy always got headache finding shoes for me. She has to search everywhere.

This is the 1st pair of shoes from Disney when I started to walk. Wore for quite a while until my feet gets bigger. Think only cost $10.90

2nd pair bought at Paragon. This cost $24.90. First expensive shoes.

This is one of my favourite shoes which was passed on. Only lately than I started wearing as it was too big. Now still a bit big but I don’t care. I want to wear this shoes every time I go out until mummy got to hide the shoes away. Reason being once I insisted to wear an orange socks with it. Mummy faint! At times also wear this with my school uniform. remember my uniform is blue color…

This is the 3rd pair bought. But becos of my slim feet, the front part quite a lot of room for my feet. So it’s not fitting.

Mummy got to buy another pair of sandals for me to go Bintan. We bought this at Bata. I loves it! Not very expensive too.

This is the latest pair bought. It’s the most expensive shoes I own so far. It cost $29.90. It’s a leather shoes. Bought this at Tanglin Mall. Now I still have to put a in-sole inside the shoes. Think can wear quite long since it’s a bit big.

These 2 pairs was passed on. This is my favourite but was a bit lose. Every time I walked with it, the back came off.

This got to keep for a few months.

Bintan

Filed under: Trips — Denise @ 2:19 pm

Finally we get to go for our holiday in Bintan on 11 Jul - 13 Jul. We postponed from 20 Jun as mummy and I were very sick one week before that. We set off to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal by taxi. We left our house at 0915hr to catch the 1105hr ferry. 2 nights before mummy packed our luggage. 1 hand carry for mummy and daddy. 1 hand carry and a haversack bag for me. wow! That’s a lot! Mummy said actually got more but she cut down my toys to lighten the luggage. She regretted during the trip. You will know why later.

waiting for ferry to arrive. the terminal was so cold. luckily I have a jacket. Mummy and Daddy were freezing.

inside the ferry waiting for passenger to come onboard.

We stayed at Bintan Lagoon Resort. After check in, we had lunch at the Japanese Restaurant. I had Nabayaki udon. Mummy is so happy that I want to feed myself.

“er… excuse me. I need to pee.”

Daddy putting on diaper for me after toilet

“Hey, what is this place for?” Mummy says it’s a wardrobe. But if I naughty, she will closed me inside.

I better get out there before mummy do that.

starts to get bored…..

Mummy says let’s go for swim before I messed up the whole room.

“Hi babe, are you ready?”

“Mummy! Mummy! Quick! Lets go down to the pool now.”

“wah……….

after swim, it’s nap time. Let’s have a break, have a milk.

Nice scenery..

“Mummy, mummy, carry me please…..”

“No, you walked yourself. It’s such a nice place to roam. Come on! chase after me!”

so poor thing. nobody wants to carry me.

“why am I sitting here?”

Daddy always so happy when he gets to carry me

ooooooooohhhhhhhhh

Next day breakfast time

stop taking me

pretty babe walking down the grass…

notice most of the photos no mummy inside? she said she is fat and not as photogenic as me! she is the photographer.

I was sleeping in between mummy and daddy on the bed the first night. Both of them cannot sleep properly cos they afraid I might fell off the bed. So second day, mummy request for a baby cot. This is the first time I sleep on a baby cot. Isn’t it too small for a big gal like me now?

one with daddy and

one with mummy. fair?

Daddy say don’t let me gets too dark. So we don’t go beach in the morning. He wants to go in the late afternoon but who knows it started raining at about 11am. It didn’t stop until 5pm. That’s where mummy regretted never bring more toys to entertain me. I’m so dead bored in the room. Mummy keep asking me to sing “Rain rain go away… come again another day. Rain rain go away… little children wants to play” but it didn’t work.

after the rain stopped at 5pm, we went to the beach to play sand. I dare not step on the sand. It feels funny!

“Summer, come down and play.”

NO! NO! NO!

“You don’t want to come down, than we go to the pool?”

“No! I want to play.”

You carry me to dig the sand.

First Day at Childcare

Filed under: Childcare Centre — Denise @ 3:33 pm

Yesterday, 1 June 2005 was my first day at childcare. I am already 18 mths. Mummy say I’m a big gal so need to promote to childcare. Mummy took leave to accompany me to school. But she didn’t have to stay long since I am adapting very well. She realised the more she is there, I will not participate in the activites. I will want to sit on her lap. So she decided to go off after 3 hrs.

“Hey! Mummy, are we ready to go?? Can I wear my shoes now?”

“Aunty Jo, can help me put on my socks and shoes? I am going to school.”

“Mummy, don’t take any more. Hurry up!”

I’m all set to go! See! I looks so confidence.

How do I look in my new uniform? Mummy says I looks funny cos the dress too big for me.

This is my classroom. See all my friends.

Guess who is this?

Haha… It’s me! It’s time to go home. I will change into jumper after bath in the morning.

Bus Ride

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 2:18 pm

This photo was taken by Uncle Toobi during my bus ride with mummy. We came home from “My Gym” at Woodlands and met Uncle Toobi and his Wife, Mao at the interchange. Uncle Toobi took out his camera and started clicking in the bus. But don’t know why only one picture given to mama. I look a bit stone as I was very tired after the gym class. I didn’t smile at all. Quite cool looking ha!

Outing at Bird Park

Filed under: Outing — Denise @ 11:36 am

Last Sunday (15 May) we had an outing at the Jurong Bird Park with my classmates from the infant care. Now they are promoted to childcare which I will follow too next month. In order for me to get used to it, mama arranged outing with my friends. So next month when I go down, I will see familiar faces, hopefully I won’t cry.

We met them at Jurong Bird Park at 10.30am. We went straight for the “All Star Birdshow” at 11am. Hmmm…. why is Raynon sitting beside me?

I didn’t quite enjoy as we were sitting quite far up.

I got restless after a while. Papa got to bring me out of the seats and stand at the steps there to watch. See my grumpy expression. Think I was hungry. I had some biscuits while waiting for the show to end.

After that, we went for lunch at MacDonalds. Here are some pictures taken by aunty and uncle while papa and mama went to get lunch.

from left : Benjamin, Raynon, myself and Le Han

I’m so jealous. How come they have food and I don’t have?

Big gal

Filed under: Just me — Denise @ 11:37 am

I started to feed myself lately. I don’t want to be fed by anyone because I am a big gal already mah! But mama and papa not quite happy about it. I wonder why??? hehehe….. bcos I always make a big mess out of it. If I don’t want to eat any more or not happy, I will throw the spoon on the floor and turn over the bowl. bawahhhh!! than I get spank by mama…. so poor thing hor! Than Aunty Jo got to clean up for me.

hmmm…. you must be wondering who is Aunty Jo that I’m talking about. She is our helper. Mama engaged her to help us out cos mama says I’m too handful to handle. She cannot do housework and cook with me around. I’m too sticky to her. Here is a picture of Aunty Jo. Isn’t she nice? Everyone says she doesn’t look like a maid. Is it a good thing or bad? I also don’t know. As long as she helps mama and she got no complain.

Mama say she got pressure from her friends to do up a blog for me.

“Hey, Mama, let Summer help you.” Papa say first must switch on the computer. Let it start up first.

geee… why is it taking so long? No wonder Mama got no patience to do it.

“Hey! I saw Happy and me on the screen!”

Than must use this mouse and move and click. “MOUSE???”

“Papa, papa, I need help. Is this correct?”
