I was hit by nasty scars and marks on my legs and arms since Dec. We thought was just the ordinary mosquitoes bites. It took weeks to recover and got worst with new scars. I kept scratching it till it bleeds.
We went to the doctor. GP said it’s not mosquitoes bites. It looks like some sensitive skin issue. I was referred to the National Skin Specialist on 12 Feb. By the time we went to the specialist - Senior Consultant, my scars already dried up. The doctor cannot determine what was that. Mummy showed him with the pictures she took before I went to the doctor. Specialist said it looks like atopic eczema. I had to change all my bathing wash to non-soap ones like Cetaphil or QV brand. Mainly my skin is dry and feels itchy, that’s when I started to scratch especially in the night. I had to wear gloves to prevent me from scratching. Each time I have new one, mummy and daddy gets very angry.

On 24 Feb (Sun), my left foot swollen. Mon morning it got worst. I can hardly walk at home. Mummy didn’t want me to go school, but I told her I can walk with the school shoes on. I walked very slowly. Mummy was worried and she didn’t go work. She tried calling the specialist at National Skin Centre but the doctor was not on duty on Mon. The earliest slot will be the next day morning at 11.30am. If not we can see a consultant on duty. She didn’t take the slot as she was thinking of urgency case. Was deciding if we should see the consultant instead. By the time she decided to go for the slot at 11.30am on Tue, all the appointments were full till Apr. She was so angry and upset.
After school, she picked me at school and brought me back to the GP. GP said it’s not linked to the eczema. Seems like I had infection on the foot.

I was given hydrocot to apply. The swell improve the next day. However, mummy still worry. She was so stressed up at work. Her friends told her to bring me to KK hospital A&E for a second opinion since I cannot see the specialist. We went and see the doctor at KK hospital. The doctor sent me for an x-ray. After the x-ray, she noticed that I have so hair line fractured near my toes. But judging that I was able to walk properly, she said should not worry too much. I was given 7 days anti-biotic for my foot infection. The medicine is the worst one I ever had! I really hate taking it! It’s so yucky!
After lunch, mummy’s doctor from her office called. Mummy was desperate to get more opinion for my skin case and she wrote the doctor an email. She called at 3pm when we were about to head home from Novena. She wanted to see my legs so we went down to see her. She recommend another bathing wash and cream for my eczema. It’s called Balneum Intensiv. It feels quite thick but we didn’t like the smell. I used it for my bath everyday and cream as and when I need it to keep my skin moisturise. Now my skin is improving though the marks are still there. Hopefully it will be gone soon.
